We are all bound by invisible chains, things that bind us and block us and keep us
from being who we really are. These ties come from childhood from family
environment, culture, fears or reactions to events that took place years ago. A method developed by Phyllis Krystal can help us to cut the ties that bind us to anyone or anything that acts as an authority and exerts control over us. Detachment from such control will allow us to remove the accumulated layers of conditioning which obscure the inner light of the Higher Consciousness (Hi C) or Real Self. The exercises that are contained in this method can help to free us from everything that prevents the Real Self from being expressed through the exterior shell or receptacle comprised of the body, mind, personality and ego. Phyllis Krystal
Phyllis Krystal was born in England and now lives and works in Munich, Germany, where she has developed her own techniques of psychotherapy. For over 50 years she has been
developing a counseling method using symbols, reverie and visualization techniques
that help people detach from external authority figures and patterns so they can rely on
their own Higher Consciousness as a guide and teacher. Phyllis is the author of
Cutting the Ties That Bind, Cutting More Ties That Bind and a Workbook for use with the two books (to order, go to: Cutting the Ties Materials). Phyllis Krystal has worked with people for many years teaching practical visualization techniques that work. She offers a puberty rite to untangle our deepest bonds to our worldly parents, helps us attain freedom from negative forces, shows us how to get in touch with the higher consciousness that is a part of all of us and shows us a mandala exercise to balance the four functions of intuition, sensation, emotion and intellect. To teach the method, Mrs. Krystal gives lectures and seminars in Asia, Australia, England, Europe, India, Ireland, New Zealand, Russia, South America and the USA. She has also written four other books--Cutting the Ties of Karma, Understanding the Patchwork of Your Past Lives, Sai Baba: The Ultimate Experience, Taming Our Monkey Mind, and Reconnecting the Love Energy. Getting StartedHer two books Cutting the Ties That Bind and Cutting More Ties That Bind, contain the theory of the method that makes the need for regular practice more understandable. They discuss the various influences, early training and conditioning, and inherent belief systems and behavior patterns that combine to form the obstructing layers. They also offer practical ways to remove them. The Hi C can then take Its rightful role as guide and ultimate authority in place of the ego.
Using the WorkbookThe Workbook has been compiled as an aid for those who wish to use the method presented in the two books more effectively. It is suitable for individuals to use alone or with a partner, in groups as well as for therapists working with clients. It acts as an adjunct to the two books by outlining the various techniques in a simplified step-by-step form which makes it very clear and easy for anyone to follow. The Workbook breaks up the various techniques into simple steps through which freedom can be attained. However, in order to achieve such freedom, it is essential for each person to be willing to devote a regular, though not necessarily large amount of time and energy to practice them. Regular practice is absolutely necessary for lasting results to be assured, just as with any other learning process. Practice, perseverance and patience are required to impress the subconscious mind with any new message before it can begin to act upon it. The Workbook has been designed to make it easier when using the method to locate the specific or appropriate exercises and relate them to the explanations in the books. The addition of full-page diagrams of the various symbols to accompany the exercises will also aid the individual in the visualization process. There are also other aids available: audio tapes, video tapes and symbol cards Cutting the Ties Materials. Because the Workbook is not currently being published the exercises are being being put up on this Web site, see Using the Symbols Some of the topics covered are:
Groups vs. Individual SessionsOnly when the work is voluntarily undertaken is it valid and/or effective. For only then will those who use it be willing to practice the exercises regularly instead of expecting someone else to wave a magic wand and solve all their problems or practice the exercises for them. Individuals should be free to work alone or in pairs, whichever they prefer, and either with or without attending a group. However, many people are finding it easier to work in a small group rather than alone or with a partner due to the increased energy of the multiple Hi-Cs available in a group. Also, it helps to receive feedback from others who are also using the work. A group is composed of more than two individuals who are at different stages of development and have a variety of personal problems, often serious ones. Therefore, a general method needs to be used that has proved to be safe, yet effective for all the participants. For group sessions, refer to Guidelines for Running Groups. In individual sessions, two people work together with one acting as a facilitator. In this case, problems or blocks can be discussed and each one can ask the Hi C for guidance as soon as they arise. They can then be resolved at the appropriate pace and sequence of steps for the person involved. This, obviously, is not practical in a group setting. On this Web site is a list of professionals and others who experienced in the work i. Many are professionals who are experienced in working with groups and individuals. In the U.S. and other parts of the world who have groups or are working with individuals Newsletter, Listening to the Hi CAfter a decade of printing newsletters and with the advent of the Internet, there is no longer a newsletter. The information that was in the newsletters is available on this site, and is divided into the following categories: Messages from Phyllis Krystal, Using the symbols, Applications, and Questions and Answers. It is hoped that the combination of the first two books, the Workbook, the tapes and videos will help more people avail themselves of this method and encourage them to put it into practice in their daily lives. Attending a seminar is also very helpful. For, in order to become free from any control other than the guidance of the Hi C, regular practice must be undertaken. Then it will be possible to allow the Hi C to be expressed through each person.
